Hi CG.

I was the one who brought up NOW Bromelain originally. When I first tried it I had dumped it out onto a spoon to check it out that way. It caused a stinging and redness on my tongue and lower lip I took to be from the strength of the bromelain. But ig posted a link to a number of bad reviews it got and suggested I had allergic reactions to the inactive ingredients.

I now believe I proved to my satisfaction today that it was an allergic reaction. I have switched to Doctor's Best which I tried a little while ago on a spoon. In my experience, you can feel raw bromelain tingling in the mouth.

That's because its action is to break down protein. It's why pineapple pickers lose their fingerprints. They eventually grow back when they stop that kind of work.

You might not notice anything like I did. Most users of NOW praise it. I won't be using it again because if it caused that problem orally, it might cause problems internally.
