Here in Kona there are a lot of retired LAFD firefighters. Mostly white males but quite few Black males too. One of my closest friends is retired from LAFD. The DEI movement started about 30 years ago. His stories are hilarious and sad. He was appointed by his area commander to oversee mediations when the women who were being hired were demanding insane things and then launching massive multi-million dollar lawsuits. He has numerous stories of ladies that were hired and retired in less than 2 years due to winning lawsuits over working conditions that every man had to deal with.
