Just FYI, most of California's water reservoirs are at or above historical averages: I'm aware of that. One exception would be the Colorado River which is continually being drained above its flow capacity. The LA basin groundwater aquifer is being depleted at an unsustainable rate. Also, the California Coastal (commie) Commission recently saw fit to cancel a permit to construct a desalinization plant. I remember some years ago during a drought, Cachuma Lake (Santa Barbara's water source) dried up and in desperation they built a desalinization plant. Before it was activated, the rains came, but instead of mothballing the plant for future drought use, they sold it to some Middle East country. California is politically fucked, top to bottom, statewide and locally, and in many more ways than just water management. Events like these LA fires might just hasten overdue and well needed changes..
