AFAIK Eric, Lake Mead is doing better than it was two years ago.

If we Californians really wanted to, however, we could reduce our dependency on Lake Mead and the Colorado river starting with more waste water recycling.

Desalination may also be necessary, although we Californians don't have the stomach for the environmental impacts thereof.
