The bird flu outbreak behind the shortages began affecting U.S. chickens in 2022, and prices are still rising. Import tariffs of 25% on Canadian exports to America will further add to the price of eggs from this commercial poultry farm in Abbotsford, British Columbia in Canada. During the recent Presidential Election many voters had expressed concerns that they might not be paying enough for eggs at the grocery and the new President's intention is to increase the price Americans pay from day one.
