Um, the first cases were in California and New York. Texas didn't get a substantial number of cases until later and we had some idea how to manage the disease. So if you want to do that comparison, you should start with mortalities a few months into it. What is telling, is the mortality rate after the vaccine became available. As predicted, mortality rates started to climb in the red states, which politicized the disease, and drop in the blue states, which took sensible precautions.

But hey, what is a lot of dead people to signal fealty to your cult leader? Over 400 thousand Americans sacrificed on the altar of a sociopath. Not to mention the ones permanently disabled due to COVID.

And you applauded.
