I’m very sorry to hear that. I know fires are normal in California, but something on this scale is unimaginable.

It won’t get better any time soon, as the fires aren’t out yet, and there is no place else for most people to go. Supposedly, landlords aren’t allowed to increase rents by more than 10% in California during an emergency, such as this one, but I’ve read that hasn’t stopped bidding wars on places to stay.

If you go to charitynavigator.org and search on Los Angeles fires, it will give you a list of reputable places to donate money.

It can also indicate where you can go for help

I’ve already donated to the LA fire department foundation.
