There is a good commentary by crabbs regarding Apple's share.

maccentral.com

Besides overall pc market share Apple/Mac has in '97, IDT or dataquest
or anybody on this board probably could provide more research
regarding:

- how many percentages Apple/Mac could advance after cloners are
ousted?

- what impact G3's series will be on Apple's revenue/net income in
the coming year?

- What Microsoft's trouble with DOJ will indirectly impact on pc's
sales, including Intel chips, Compaq, Dell? Whether Apple will
benefit from it or the other way around?

- The sensitivity analyses on if Apple refocuses on low-end Macs by
itself or Umax, as well as NC with Oracle.

- Can Apple sustain the current positive net income trend as the G3's
sales on the rise? How much can it reach in terms of sales volume,
margins as well as its impact on Apple's financial future?

- Will Rhapsody have any impact on NT and Solaris? How will Rhapsody
mean to Mac's market in '98 or the year after?

Although we all cannot see the insight of Apple's business like
Apple's insiders did, but it will be a good educational discussion
here.
