I didn't even know International Harvester made light trucks.

But Reddit provided

What caused International Harvester to completely pull out of the light truck market in the early 80's? And why did Dodge pull out of the medium-duty market even before that? : r/cars

In the UK 2.8 litres would be regarded as a large Diesel. Just looking at the specs... 161HP.

My price tag is highly limited. I am looking at second hand, bargain basement. Fact is the Honda HR-V and Civic cars (Diesel versions) usually get scrapped at under 100k miles like their gasoline counterparts. These old engines are good for 300k miles and in good supply.

The1.5 litre bi turbocharged version is rated at 160HP (version N16A4)

For my application, I need reliability, affordability, and easy access to parts in the UK, and looking for something under 150 kgs. Power is not a priority.

One thing to avoid imho is the "wet cam belt" or "belt in oil" which is a relative recent development.

I have decided I do not wish to be part of that development cycle. Pity about Ford, I was a supporter.

One is tempted to ask the question. wtf is going on? It is not saving the Planet.

On the American continent, yes I would look at American manufacture.
