Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) shares gained 3.8% in Friday morning trading after Morgan Stanley Research moved the Overweight-rated retail trading app to top pick, owing to "many vectors for growth that’s not yet reflected in valuation and the shareholder base."

Analyst Michael Cyprys sees a particular opportunity for Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) to beef up its participation in the crypto industry, he wrote in a note, given the "scope for deregulation" under the incoming Trump administration.

There is also the potential for "upward bias to estimates given scope for sustained retail engagement as capital markets activity builds," he noted.

On Tuesday, Bernstein's Gautam Chhugani named Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) the best idea for 2025 within his global digital assets coverage, as a potentially friendlier regulatory environment under a Trump administration bodes well for the company's current constrained crypto business.

Seeking Alpha analyst Alexander Ball, meanwhile, explained how he does "not see much margin for error with a good amount of future growth already priced in," based on current valuations. He noted he's still bullish on the stock for the long-term.

Morgan Stanley's Overweight rating compares with the SA Quant system rating of Hold, and the average SA analyst and the average Wall Street analyst, both at Buy.
