Pete Alonso is living in fantasy land. Nothing wrong with that, but at some point you have to get real or you lose out more than need be.

When I think of Pete Alonso, I keep on thinking of Ryan Howard. The later was a great slugger and real good clutch hitter, but he lost it all the last 3-4 years of that long term contract with the Phillies. Stearns is smart. Angels offered Alonso 25M a year for two years. Mets offered 70M for three years.

Alonso and Boras are overplaying their hand. Is there a sucker who will pay Alonso what he wants? The rest of the league knows that if the richest owner in baseball won't do it, why should they?

Mets would probably let Soto walk after 5 years if another team was stupid enough to pay him more. My feel is that the Mets probably get stuck with that contract.

Eagles, Chiefs, Lions likely win big. Only competitive playoff game so far was Tampa/Washington. Bills/Ravens game of two chokers.
