With that attitude, you have entered into my world and the Israeli state of mind. However, there are a few considerations to keep in mind. 1. Trump has taken off the sale of all weapon restrictions that Biden imposed on Israel. Netanyahu did not want to buck Trump, not at this stage anyway. 2. The radical Muslim jihad terrorists do not value life at all. Heaven is their preferred destination or better, what they consider to be heaven. We value life as the highest value and greatest gift of G-d. ( I don't want to get into a religious debate or discussion here since this thread is not the place for it) , but the contrast with Christianity is worth noting. Due to our different philosophies and values, Israel had to free more hostages or terrorists to Hamas in order to get its hostages back. There is no dollar value that can compensate for the life of a person. In our world, an individual life has infinite value. Hamas has kidnapped an 8 month old baby and young children. We want them back. Their lives have immeasurable value to us. 3. There is nothing in the ceasefire agreement that states that the war is over. Israel can return to its goal of eliminating Hamas completely once the hostages are returned or Hamas goes against the original agreement in any shape or form.
With all this being said, Trump made a very serious mistake pushing for and enforcing this ceasefire agreement. Firstly, the IDF is opposed to the agreement, but will honor it for the time being. 2. More importantly, it sets a precedent which is not good. The terrorists now know that they can use kidnapping as a weapon to create ceasefires. This can harm the USA moving forward just as well as Israel. 3. Trump should really butt out out of Israel's business and focus on cleaning up the problems in the USA. And there are a lot of problems here with illegals and radical Muslim jihad terrorists in the States too. Not as bad as Canada, Europe or Australia, but still very concerning.
In short: Trump has a full plate of problems to resolve in his own country and should primarily focus on that. |
