Trump and his autocrats, and right wing Republicans, are drunk with power and will try and do everything they have ever wanted which would mean things like privatizing social security like Bush tried, and getting a universal abortion ban.
And as bad as it will be, it will be magnified by "them", and especially Trump, wanting to hurt the dems and liberals, so intentionally doing horrible things like cutting down pristine forests that will be permanent damage, or mining and oil exploration of same, or punishing blue states, etc.
With Trump's army of autocrats, and tech oligarchy, and complete control of a submissive party and congress, Trump is going to reign hell on the nation, with no guard rails per his executive actions.
He will do anything he wants, and if it is illegal he will do it anyway and send it to the courts.
This is 1933 Germany just as Hitler was elected, or Putin in 2,000.
So how much damage will Trump do to our democracy and rule of law?
It is impossible to guess the damage, as it will be chaos like a political hurricane, so the only thing we know is that the damage to our democracy and the rule of law will be pervasive and profound. |
