You are an accountant iirc. Would you consider it a felony to code an immaterial settlement to Legal Expense? I was a CPA for years and I can’t imagine how many times I did precisely the same. You would NEVER disclose the nature of a settlement in financial statements unless it was material to the financial presentation, which would disclose the confidential nature of any such settlement.

Disagree? If so, do you feel it is acceptable to make such disclosure unnecessary.
