The reason for the current cold outbreak across the southern US is that the jet stream has over the last few decades become less and less stable. According to the people who spend their lives becoming experts on this topic, this is due to the increased heat content in the atmosphere, itself in turn the consequence of the increased production of GHGs by humans.

So yes, one consequence of climate change is extreme cold temperatures in certain areas at certain times.

There is nothing political in this post. I am simply reporting the objective findings of science.
