Guys,
We're in a lose/lose situation long term in the mid east.I agree with jess' description of out oil policy. Our goal is to drain the world's oil first so we have ours last.Clinton is calling to protect the 'rain forest' while we allow the depletion of Venezuela's oil which can only lead to an eventual destabilization there as well. How concerned will we be with the mid east when the oil is gone. See ya! the only real concern we have is keeping the lid on until the oil is gone. Whoops! They have nuclear weapons? Gulp...

Somehow, I think we have missed the boat in our greed based foreign policy. Let's face it. We are on the other side of the world from Iraq. They have never been a threat to us and we couldn't give a rat's ass what happens over there except for oil.I wonder what would have happened if we had developed a foreign policy based on "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"? Suppose we had gone into the mid east and spent a few hundred billion on helping them develop farms or alternate means of improving their lifestyles? They might have a different perspective.

One last thing, anybody who thinks for one minute that our own government won't use any level of force against its own people is dreaming. Our government has and will continue to do so. That is our history.

Dismounting from soapbox.

Big Dog, I will be in touch shortly.

Glad to see you're back. How's Shredder feeling now that you're home? bet he's glad to see the boss.
