Mets don't want Alonso. It is not about money. If Cohen wanted Alonso, he would be a Met by now. This is all about Stearns and his vision of what he wants the Mets to be. Alonso is an aging one dimensional player. Stearns likes athletic types who are good defensive players. You can tell by the players he selects. Soto was a special situation because he is young and a great hitter.

Mets are playing with Alonso in the hope he signs elsewhere. I say playing because the Mets don't want to completely alienate the fan base.

I agree with Stearns all the way.

As for Glen, the new Jet head coach, I have no idea what to make of it. I am neither impressed or unimpressed. I am numb in regard to the Jets.

I know nothing about the likely GM. Nothing in terms of whether he will succeed or not. I don't know. That's as positive as I can get.
