all that is required is either an export tax or tariff that shuts in Alberta oil sands.Then an Alberta referendum on asking the USA to become the 51st state and 50% +1 to proceed. With the 4th largest oil resource on the planet, the USA would accept in about a New York second. It would be democratic and there is sweet f*ck all the Ottawa Laurentian mafia could do about it, other than have to become productive and compete in a global market instead of living off Albertans' hard work and enterprise.
