You act like this is something new. The issue has been debated for decades, especially after almost every industrialized country repealed birthright citizenship laws. No European country has it.

Trump put it out there so it can be decided once and for all by the courts. Even if it loses in the SC, at least there will be a road map for a constitutional amendment attempt.
