Our power is still off.

The latest is they will fix it 12pm tonight. Trouble is that they have said that for before. They will probably get it fixed just in time to be broken again by the next storm on Monday.

Looks like the mobile phone mast is powered by the same power line, and it has a 24 hr back up. So that went down yesterday also. Now no signal whatsoever.

For a while I thought we had gone back to the stone age, and indeed we have, but it's only localised. Travel in either direction about 10 miles to the nearest town and they have everything. Lights, power, shops, the lot.

It's just us.

But I have a generator, and with power, the internet and the land line phones work. They have proven handy. The freezers are still frozen, and basically I am a happy camper. Not true of many of the locals though, many who are pensioners, so we have been helping those out a bit.
