storms and cold waves usually coming in from the west or north west seem to bottom out around sarasota fl and move east to orlando etc.head up the east coast. i have been here for several years and usually we do not get those storms further south of tampa area.

My friend years ago said to me." i don't know why people drive from boston to florida for the winter and do not drive another three or four hours further for warmer weather. He settled in west palm for that, much warmer, winters. I listened to him when i thought seriously about being a snow bird.
