Propaganda, for the most part.
In fairness, I do not believe there is a media outlet that covers the news fairly. Almost everyone in that business leans pretty hard to the left, and if they don't, they exist as a token. It is like artists and musicians: very hard to find one that has the essential depth to get the big picture. And Trump has made most of their heads explode.
I had a friend who was a more-or-less a famous news man, a many people would recognize from a major newspaper. We knew each other for years (since about 2000) before he retired, and I honestly could not tell where he was politically. Left, right, who knows? Then, after he retired, his leftist bias began to show, at first a little then more routinely. But when Trump took office, his afterburners were turned on and he had nothing to hide. It doesn't bother me, but I think the Left mostly prefers to avoid contact with Trump supporters. Anyway, he quit corresponding and so I finally gave up. I still check on his health now and again.
Trump is trying to bring the country together, but he does have essential stuff to do that is going to piss people off from time to time. I think it will be smart of him to get it all out of the way ASAP, and allow as much time for the country to heal as possible. We clearly could not have gone forward with the Dem candidates, so Trump was not just the right choice, but was the only conceivable choice in this election. So, hopefully, people will get on board as they learn what a fiasco the fake investigations of the first term and his four years off were in fact. |
