Paul; They is currently no real need for alternates as socket based solutions seem to be keeping up(within 10% faster/slower) I expect that they will end up with either a socket solution(current concept leader with cache on board) or a repin of the slot 1 in a unique manner to bypass any patents, and look like it. ( it will not be plug compatible) Your scenarion about tight work might just be right, and end up with a die 5-10% larger in area, at higher yield, with fewer dice part of the in toto cohort. Bill
