Yes, now he might. But that is a position that evolved in accordance with evolving proof they had nothing else to do. At first, when they wanted to have the masks for the hospitals first, he lied. He said, specifically, they did not help. When in reality he should have said, "We don't have enough and it is essential to take care of personnel first". That would have at least been sort of true. But he just downright lied.

Then he continued to move through a list of other positions over the ensuring months. If I hadn't take hours to trace back the studies that were done, I'd have no idea what the truth was. Then, the assholes came out and started demanding that scientists change their findings on the subject.

It was lie, lie, lie, lie, lie. One after the other. Right up to the moment they demanded that scientists change their findings OR they would lose long-term publishing arrangements.
