Yes I would agree with you that LSI's ramping up to premo growth
rates will come on further down the line.

That's indicated by the reduction in analyst projections.

But to reiterate, from the c.call, it appears that they are operating
quite well these days.

We know LSI makes oodles of profits much higher than the
linear increases in capacity as it's capacity ramps:


55% $ 65% $$ 75% $$$$ 80% $$$$$$$$$$$$


It's the very nature of their business.

Again they exited Q4'97 with 80% capacity. Why the heck revenues are
not higher only the BIG GUY upstairs knows. Unless there is a currency
effect or the 80% ramp happened late in the quarter.

I'm trying to recall when did LSI ever have their fabs operating
at 80% capacity in the 2 years I've been following them. I think
the number of times was:


ZERO

That makes me think there may be an earnings surprise this
quarter and more than a piddly 1 cent. Hopefully 3c or better.

Finally we may we lucky this q because depreciation may be a bit lower
than later on in the year.

Any way I have now washed my hands off the TSO's decision!!!

Have an inkling you may be right on the price movement direction but I
think I am also right on the momentum build-up at the company.

Of course the price movement is the key factor and so in the final
say you may be right!
