Rememeber when you wrote Kenay didn't have the electricty to paly in the AI arena?

All those ridiculous projections of energy demand to power AI data centers start facing reality.

But first, let's go back to where it started. The US had a real estate crisis caused by WFH and these huge pension funds, heavily invested in commercial real estate, needed to move their capital to new asset classes.

Data centers, a sort of real estate asset, welcomed the capital. The data center sector wanted more money of that money, and projections went to the stratosphere.
Being an old man is good. I have a lot of experience to draw from. I saw 3G feeding the Dotcom bubble in the year 2000. And I saw how it ended.

DeepSeek AI throws a spanner on the works because it uses less electricity.
Now we start seeing efficient AI. Sure demand for electricity demand still will rise, but not according to the pre-Deepseek projections.

"Sustainable solutions for data center energy demand are already emerging in other parts of the world. Earlier this month two Brazilian firms, WEG and Elea Data Centers, announced a partnership in support of plans for a $300 million AI data center project in São Paulo. The data center will deploy transformers from WEG to improve energy efficiency on a systemwide basis

All those markets that were intimidated by the ridiculous demand projections now can see they will be able to play the AI game too.

I am watching because I know how the capital hoggers act.
