Well I disagree Doug. I think MACR has been repositioning (for last one year) itself from "just multimedia.." company to "internet multimedia.." company. And latest moves of:
- releasing Dreamweaver
- releasing most of their softwares for internet applications so that they can appeal more
- and latest move to create Shockrave reinforces that theme.
Also please notice that games, entertainment and music constitutes pretty large number of internet community. Therefore its safe to assume that this new site might generate noticeable revenue for them, if executed well. Not to mention that this site is sponsered and partenered with big players like 7 UP and featuring exclusive
Shockwave content created by leading entertainment companies and developers such as United Media,Columbia TriStar Interactive, Comedy Central, SegaSoft Networks, Inc., Circumstance Design, Zeek Interactive, Ezone and TheDJ.com. From Dilbert and South Park to King Putt and Lenny Loosejocksetc. And ShockRave is being sponsored by 7 UP, Apple Computer, Inc. and The LifeSavers Company.
IMHO, I think they did good job of bringing this site.
regards,
av
