Whether it's ADSL, cable, or some other means for massively increasing bandwidth, I'm thinking that it will be analagous to building more prison beds or adding lanes to a freeway....... by the time it's in place increased demand will have already overfilled the added capacity.

Removeable storage is a tech market niche. It is a big one, and it is growing rapidly. Nothing else provides users with the same use options.
