If that's all it takes, then it's a small price to pay for quid pro quo Trump.

The real question, however, is whether Trump can get PooTin to the negotiating table.

And the truth is that PooTin is completely unwilling to negotiate anything except a virtual surrender.

Why?

- PooTin thinks he's winning, and that the costs to his own political stability are manageable.

- PooTin is scared of negotiating. To him, remaining in a perpetual state of war is the "safer" option.

This is something that the dumbass Trump will never understand.
