Since the short interest report is Feb. 15, I suspect short interest dropped the week of the 16th, imho, from covering.
I also thought the rise in stock price from Jan to Feb was fueled by short covering. Not the first time I've been wrong. However, another spin could be that short sellers(me included) are not covering, but in fact averaging up waiting for the anticipated crash, sooner or later. Certainly hope my optimism about being AOL-pessimistic pans out.
