Silicon Motion Announces Results for the Period Ended December 31, 2024

Q1 guidance stinks, but Q4 2025 sounds good.

Consumer demand remains weak in the first half of 2025 and is proving more challenging than we initially anticipated; however, we expect a strong rebound in the second half of this year driven from new product introductions and new project wins with our OEM customers, reaching close to a run-rate of $1 billion in annual revenue in 4Q25.”

So Q1 2025 is about $162m, and Q4 2025 is going to be about $250m. Interesting. That's quite a ramp.

I think the stock price needs to absorb the weak Q1 news, and from there it will rise througout the year. If the Q4 revenue number is maintained throughout the year I think SIMO should be able to reach $80 like it did last year, perhaps higher depending on how things progress.

$50m share repurchase announced.

Gross margins guided up sequentially in Q1 despite declining sales. That's good. Since SIMO appears to have lots of new products ramping in 2025 gross margins may appreciate throughout the year. Sounds like the stock needs to get over the Q1 sales drop and then it's off to the races.
