The real waste and fraud will be found in the department of defense.
Perhaps, but given the rise of Trumperialism, I don't expect deep cuts there.

Once the world starts calling Trump on his bluffs, he'll have to do something to prove how "tough" he is.

And the last thing he'll want is a military that got gutted through DOGE and through RuZZian-style corruption (e.g. water in the fuel tanks, cardboard boxes in place of reactive armor ...).
