While IGs serve a purpose, they are not apolitical or free of political control. Musk is able to move fast and efficiently pressing the limits of what a president has power to do. This investigation has been extensively preplanned, highly effective, and the facts are what they are, no matter one's partisan leanings. Musk is not on the other side. But he can see this is the most important task on his agenda. And it is why it must succeed. If it doesn’t, then nothing else matters. The companies and many others would just waste away and die. I think a lot of people just don’t comprehend what this effort is about.
