All of we hippies have stayed ahead of the kids. We never changed a bit because we knew what we believed and why and we were not afraid to grow. We embraced change and had no trouble throwing out bad or primitive ideas.

It is cool we have so many old hippies on these threads. And our kids turned out really well in the aggregate.

Rat went to school at our head quarters: UC Berkeley.

My only regret is that I did not go to UC Berkeley. I sure had a UC mind set. I could have, but have great trouble with language and did not think I could get through a foreign language, so I went to San Jose state instead that did not require one.

But I joined the counter culture the day I saw it in the early 60's (several years before rat did-:> (I am older)). when they still had Owsley purple tabs and window panes and the Haight was still innocent and dreamy.

I saw it all, did most of it and lived to tell the tale-lol.

When my clan gets together every single one is a hard core communist. And they know why.
