I'm big on making great food cheap. But some things that used to allow that in terms of quality ingredients, good proteins, and all the other parts to a good dish are absolutelly ballistic. So I went to find out the FRED's own numbers and whoa!, they are staggering.

eggs, for one, on the food chain of making nearly everything, are 5x up. Couple of eggs per day if you are poor at 10 cents an egg (that was yesterday yesterday) can sustain you very well if you are clever.

Not now. We're at 50 cents an egg and climbing.

every other food stuff that has an egg in it's core, mayonaise for example, let alone hollandaise sauce and it's sister bearnaise sauce... add a penalty price to go with that crazy steak price at your local steak house.

all micky d breakfast items on a cost basis are being slaughtered. Denny's, Waffle House, you name your B-fast chain that relied on eggs surrounded by upgrades.. their margins must be getting decimated.

it's not just the eggs man.

double and triple whammies across the economic landscape.
