Perhaps 1% of the stories by SCMP are very deliberately placed there, and them be why I read the media, for that 1%. I like to think what stories fall into the 1% category.
The other 99% are fluff, sourced from suspects Bloomberg, Newsweek, WSJ, NYT, etc, or otherwise authored by interns. I do not waste my time in those, except to note that the whatever story is sourced.
