There is wild weather across most of Canada right now, including storms dumping 40+ cm of snow in New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario, and life-threatening -40C temperatures in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

We are doing a little better in southern BC. After two weeks of record-setting cold temperatures, the Arctic air is finally receding, and we will be back to normal tempeatures and rain --hiurrah! -- within a few days. One sour note -- a few months ago the snow pack was looking okay, but after two months of below normal precip, it has dropped markedly, raising fears for the upcoming fire season. (You know, that time of year we used to call summer.)
