Senthil...hard to tell about Kiz 100. My work (non tech) with the space program years ago brought me into contact with the likes of Kiz' on an all-too-regular basis. Nearly all are bright as can be, many have an ax to grind or a sacred duty to perform and some are just plain crazy. The amount and quality of information they present can astonish.
The handle, "Kiz 100," certainly points to a relationship with IOM products (real or fantasized). Did he/she get canned? Miss out on a deserved prize or promotion? Offer a superior solution that was passed over? His/her habit of highlighting secret meetings and such and the someone's-out-to-get-me theme border on histrionics and, IMO, do not argue well for credibility...then again, Andy G. DID say, "Only the paranoid survive."
To shift gears just a bit...IOM seems on the threshold of reaching critical mass with Zip. If Zip becomes A drive in a few more boxes...if Dell continues to include and promote it...if it becomes widely available in the $1K segment, well, once again the problem will be, how to make 'em fast enough. If the company is spending 100MM to promote it, I gotta believe they can build it. I would guess that OEMs are getting some very sweet deals on the drives these days (something to keep in mind when projecting those Q1 numbers, if you ask me). If Sony or others are serious about spoiling the party, they need to SHOW US THE PRODUCT, and they need to do it real soon. I have NO idea if Sony has a loaded gun...if I had to guess, I'd say they probably DO have a time problem, hence the rash of IOM bashing in the media lately. There's a note of desperation in this.
Two questions and a final thought for all: (1) Is Rod is getting a little shrill or, am I just too darn sensitive? (2)Has Trufflette turned on us (trying to lure the Great Michael C. away didn't seem like something a "real" friend would do)? Hmmmmm. And, finally, I see that RR has rejected Clik! and is insisting on an even smaller "device" for his Palm Pilot. NO, I won't use the G word, I won't, I won't.
