Have you actually done any Research Eric? One of the issues is funding. Often the funders have a business plan in place, depending on a certain outcome, and that is why they have the funds in the first place. They fund on the hope of a result that is pleasing to them.

There are literally thousands of these type of cartoons on the very same subject.







And that is just one of the many reasons why academia can be completely and hopelessly wrong at times.
