Yes, the human race achieved many things without a mobile phone. Captain Cook accurately positioned Tasmania to within 20 miles in 1776. The mobile phone he had a the time did not even have a single transistor (or even a diode) in it. -g-

Unfortunately mobile phones, maybe even calculators, have dumbed down the human race in many ways.
