No, I assumed she had made a basic blunder as those guys implied.

People make mistakes and Zharkova is not immune. As said, she has been working on this (in the past) in her spare time and on a near zero budget.

So I started on the assumption she had made and error and these guys were right. They are not small fry scientists.

On checking the record though, I was the one mistaken, Valentina had not made a mistake.

This Earth Sun distance, on contemplation, is not rocket science. JPL have already provided all the data for us. Consideration of the three bodied problem (that can be then generalized to our many bodied solar system) clearly shows where the error is. The Earth Sun distance will change depending on the position of the major planets.
