This tells us something about dementia. There were cases of piano players who could play great music after having become deeply demented. I’ve known people who could conduct a wonderful conversation about their grandchildren - and appeared intact - until you asked them something out of the beaten path, like the name of the US president. They would answer, “Eisenhower?” - often, with a question mark.
