if asnd is preparing itself for a merger, then indeed nothing will happen...but perhaps over the next few months, lucent or nt may absorb both asnd, and a company like ciena (if not ciena)....After reading the excerpts from goldman's report, I am going to key in on cien this week and see if its worth picking up. From what I gathered, Cascade was a bit tougher to handle than they had originally planned....but I think its all behind them now.
