Musk: Database Lists 12 Million People Older Than 120 as Eligible for Social Security

Which should raise the process question - how/when does the death field get checked?

Obviously - if someone that old is receiving benefits it needs further examination.

I know that in the case of a married couple when one dies the other can claim the others SS benefits if they are higher than their own. But it's not a 100% benefit but some reduced percentage, I doubt 12 million people had partners on average 40 years their junior.

It's a sensational headline for sure but requires explanation. Which is the point of an audit not just to find fraud, waste abuse but to improve the system as well for future audits.
