'scuse me for buttin' in, but before I crash, I want a little more practice on TA...
BBands(20exp) don't track too well on HNLY...$ usually in bottom half, no cycling between top & bottom. Maybe significant is that no price (since 9/97 anyway) has been sustained above top band and all but the 80c spike on 5 Jan were followed by $ decline. Neutral.
Stochastics (14,3,3exp) did bottom through last week @ 5%, and %K crossed %D on Thursday. Shows a strong move up, but seems to be a lag and most significant moves are around small $ changes. Also most recent 1/2 of range tops out just above where it sits now. Slightly negative.
RSI (14) shows Friday's move to 55, top end of recent range. Neutral.
MACD(9) at first glance looks very positive as 9 day trigger should cross tomorrow. Also may break above 0. However, Last move of this caliber accompanied spike of 80c and exit crossover didn't occur until 30c. Positive nature of trigger is deceiving, as it often accompanied by $ declines. Slightly negative.
CCI (200,100,-150,100) rose to 100 & ready for downturn based on historical profile of similar spikes. Negative.
Chaikin Oscillator has been at top of range, just above 0 for past 2 weeks. Currently trending down sharply against $ rise. negative.
Thought about it, but I'll pass. Overall slightly negative in short term. Guess I should've nibbled @ 24c. Indicators were primed on Monday. Moving on Tuesday. Heard about this on Wednesday. Shoulda bought there, @ 24c. Won't touch it now.
I'm new here, and also new to TA. Check my profile. I used this as an exercise to check for a short term pop. I didn't see what my minimal experience said I should. Don't take this as a basis for your own exit or entry. I'm completely (except for 7 days of thread) ignorant of the FA here. Sorry to disturb you. Wish I wouldn't hear about these things so damn late...:-) LB |
