This guy, Gilbert Doctorow, is an interesting guest on Judge Napolitano, in that he follows Russian domestic scene from the point of view of Russian media (including state owned) and others.
But in this video, he is trying to analyze Trump strategy and makes some good observations:
The "art of the deal" on rare earth metals was a set up according to Doctorow. Trump set up Zelensky, to reject it, and based on that rejection, Trump will make further steps, such as cutting off future aid.
I think Trump is trolling Zelensky with various jabs (dictator, started the war, 4% approval rating), just to get Zelensky to overreact and become hostile to Trump and the US, and the Trump can use it to turn US opinion and Ukrainian opinion against Zelensky.
Doctorow, BTW, thinks that Zelensky may not have a very long shelf life... In long term, probably but in the short term, maybe not yet.
