It's completely legal now - lead shot for waterfowl hunting was banned in 1991 - 34 years ago - that's not going to change.
AFAIK, I was not able to use my lead pellet shotgun shells after the ban happened and they went to steel shot, so there they sit. If I were to be caught using them, I would be in trouble, if I understand the rules correctly.

Steel shot is completely legal, if that's what you are referring to.

Our state has Fish and Game enforcement, but they generally go by Federal regulations except where there are conflicts with our State Constitution, which treats residents equally by race. There's a rural preference for subsistence rules, but when it comes to Federally protected species, the race card overrules the State regs and that comes under Federal enforcement.

I wonder if the lead shot ban was only a regulation and not a law? With the recent Supreme Court decision overruling the Chevron doctrine about regulation vs. law, it might be something that could be challenged.

That's if I ever have to pull out the lead shot to get after the Terminator AI robot swarm and Fish and Game's RoboCop tries to arrest me for polluting the environment.
