Lead shot for waterfowl hunting is still banned at the federal level and has been since 1991 - I seriously doubt that will change as the science and effect on ducks eating the shot was proven long ago by actual science when we used to do that kind of thing before global warming.

In my state they also banned lead for turkeys and you must use steel or bismuth.

What I am saying is the ATF has nothing to do with lead shot bans - Fish and Wildlife did that at the federal level.

When dove or grouse hunting I use lead shot - not illegal in my state. Same for lead slugs on deer or lead projectiles for rifle or pistol bullets. There has been talk of banning lead bullets for years - but again this is coming from Fish and Wildlife not the ATF. I have no idea who Trump will tap for Fish and WIldlife but I hope they toss any ban ideas out the window ASAP.

I also use lead at the skeet/trap range and of course I've not seen any realistic replacement for lead .22 rimfire bullets.
