What I said was this:

Now if you go back to the dictionary definition of idiot savant I posted:

"a person who has an exceptional aptitude in one particular field, such as music or mathematics, despite having significant impairment in other areas of intellectual or social functioning."

Dumbo, Eric's "aptitude" is based on his "book knowledge" of what he learned in school. Outside of his book knowledge from school, he is an idiot.

Eric fits the definition of an idiot savant perfectly.
