The Trudeau-appointed Islamophobia czar, Amira Elghawaby, endorsed a federal guide called Managers’ Guide to Supporting Muslim Employees. It advises employers to grant special privileges and allowances to Muslims in the workplace, and advises non-Muslims to learn about Islam only from Muslims. The expectation in this guide is that Canadians must accommodate Muslims in the workplace, not that Muslims should adapt and assimilate into Canadian society.
The Muslim Federal Employees Network (MFEN) is behind the guide. In its own words, it “plays a key leadership role in supporting the Government of Canada to become a model of inclusion of Muslim public servants.”
MFEN goes much farther. It declares:
Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. It teaches that there is only one God(Allah) and that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last in a long line of Messengers and Prophets which include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, John and Jesus. The Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah [the teachings and the example of the Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him)] are the main Islamic sources of guidance for Muslims. The Qur’an is the last of a succession of holy books (e.g. Torah and Bible) revealed by God over 1,400 years ago. Muslims recite from the Qur’an, in Arabic, in their daily prayers. There are five pillars in Islam: Testimony of belief in monotheism, daily Prayer, Fasting during the month of Ramadan, obligatory Almsgiving and Pilgrimage (Hajj) to the city of Mecca.
Muslims have 5 obligatory prayers a day; sometimes up to 3 of the 5 prayers occur daily during a 9am to 5pm workday. Prayers must be performed within their allocated time periods which vary day to day and month to month because the length of daylight/night-time hours change from day to day, and from one geographical region to another. A Muslim must complete ablution with clean water prior to praying which can be done in public washrooms. The place of prayer should be clean, quiet, and afford the individuals with some privacy. Jumu’ah congregational prayers, while obligatory on men, will also be attended by others.
The Muslim Federal Employees Network also states that “Islam has codes of conduct for how men and women interact with each other,” and “Islam sets out dietary restrictions for Muslims, making it important for them to be careful about…..,” etc.
In the West, men and women are equal under the law, unlike the Sharia, in which women are of inferior status.
Amira Elghawaby is former communications director of the National Council of Canadian Muslims (formerly CAIR-CAN), a group that has been brazenly anti-Israel, and she continues to advance Islamic agendas and interests.
Days ago, Trudeau’s former Finance Minister Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, who quit her cabinet positions in December, pledged to “scrap” an important division of the Canada Revenue Agency: the Research and Analysis Division. And “she signed and sent a letter about her plan to the National Council of Canadian Muslims.” Her actions follow expressions of “concern” from special interest groups.
In March 2023, alleged “civil liberties groups” called for an “immediate moratorium” on so-called “prejudiced audits” of Muslim charities. The aggressive launch to smear the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as “Islamophobic” for investigating highly questionable Islamic charities continues to gain momentum within the Trudeau government. There is no “systemic discrimination” against Muslims in Canada. But there is substantial reason to investigate Muslim charities, as Jihad Watch explained HERE.
The Liberals continue their practice of putting special interest groups before Canadian interests. This includes the unreasonable accommodations and privileges outlined in the federal guide that has been imposed upon Canadian workplaces. What does anyone in the West think will happen if Jewish and Christian groups brazenly stated their expectations of privilege in Islamic countries?

“Federal guide advises prayer spaces, limits handshakes for Muslim employees,” Western Standard, February 23, 2025:
A new federal guide for managers recommends creating prayer spaces for Muslim employees while advising executives to avoid handshakes with them.
Blacklock’s Reporter says the Managers’ Guide To Supporting Muslim Employees outlines religious considerations in the workplace and emphasizes accommodations for one of the largest employee networks in the federal public service.
Amira Elghawaby, cabinet’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, endorsed the initiative, noting the Muslim Federal Employees Network’s significant presence in government offices.
“My office was pleased to collaborate alongside the Network on a new course on Islamophobia now available for all federal public servants,” she stated….
